As a result of a merger between two local basketball clubs, we developed a remarkable identity for Belgium’s now largest basketball club. The brand name respects the heritage of the city, referring to the battle of the Golden Spurs.
We designed a sporty and college-style identity, with a subtle twist to the city’s heritage. The star inside the logo combines the high level of competition, forming a “spur”.
A brand new club.
The entire brand identity offers sufficient subtlety and layering in order to build recognisability through the diversity of graphical elements. The combination of typography, graphical elements and patterns all contribute to a solid and professional identity.
Building a solid fan base.
The identity was rolled out on a broad variety of different brand supports, such as team outfits, sport bags, billboards, sponsorship brochures, stadium, website, etc. Next to the team’s own equipment, many merchandising items were designed for the brand to spread as widely as possible.
One big team.
Collecting stickers of your favorite athletes is pure nostalgia for lots of us. Together with the local Carrefour Market, we created a sticker book highlighting all the players of the Kortrijk Spurs. This way, kids and family could collect their favorite players and compose their own team.
